Galápagos · Regenerative Tourism · Circular Economy

San Cristóbal9 days that transform the traveler and strengthen the island

Living nature, local community, purposeful conservation and circular economy. An immersive experience where every dollar invested flows through the hands of those who protect this territory — and every moment builds a real bond with the island.

9 Days · 8 Nights · All Inclusive

You're not here to tour Galápagos.
You're here to inhabit it and strengthen it.

In San Cristóbal, it is still possible to travel in an intimate, mindful and genuine way. While conventional tourism accumulates destinations and photographs, this program proposes something more ambitious: to build a living relationship with the territory, reduce the visitor's geographic footprint and turn each day into an act of reciprocity with the island and its people.

Over nine days, ocean, land, rural life, wellness, environmental education, citizen science and encounters with the local community interweave into an itinerary designed under one guiding principle: that tourism works like rain that nourishes everyone — producers, transport operators, guides, families and farms of those who permanently inhabit the island.

"It's not about taking Galápagos home in your suitcase. It's about your visit fueling the virtuous circle between community, nature and conservation."

Volcán Verde
Field Station & Ecological Reserve

Where the island breathes more slowly and the traveler finds their rhythm

Nestled in the La Soledad sector, just fifteen minutes by vehicle from Puerto Baquerizo Moreno, Volcán Verde occupies a privileged rural property in the highlands of San Cristóbal. Here, far from the port's bustle yet close to everything, the climate turns temperate, the air fills with birdsong, and the vegetation takes on a density that reminds you why these islands changed the history of science.

This field station and ecological reserve serves as operational base, temporary home and terrestrial bird sanctuary throughout the entire experience. Its cabins, equipped with all basic amenities for a comfortable stay, blend into the landscape without imposing — because here, nature is the protagonist, not the infrastructure.

Waking to the song of Darwin's finches, sipping coffee among mockingbirds and canaries, watching owls at dusk, or simply sitting to listen to the fertile silence of the rural highlands: at Volcán Verde, every moment outside the itinerary is also part of the experience.

Your trip is a rain that benefits the entire island

Every operational decision in this program ensures that tourism's economic benefits are distributed among San Cristóbal's permanent residents. We don't work with external chains or concentrate resources in a single provider: we weave a network where families, producers, transport operators and local entrepreneurs actively participate and receive fair income for their contribution.

We are convinced of something simple yet powerful: when the local community is included, receives tangible benefits and feels like a protagonist, the appreciation of natural resources grows — and conservation strengthens from within.
🧑‍🌾

Local Farms & Producers

We visit rural farms run by Galápagos families, consume their products and leave a direct economic contribution at every stop.

🚤

Shared Transport

We distribute boat trips and transfers among different community service providers, never concentrating in a single operator.

Food, supplies and materials come from resident producers and merchants. Every purchase feeds the island's economy.

Arrival, Welcome & First Wonder

Slow down to start feeling

Welcome at Puerto Baquerizo Moreno and a fifteen-minute transfer to Volcán Verde, in the La Soledad sector. Lunch, prepared with locally sourced ingredients, inaugurates the gastronomic experience. A first walk through the farm reveals the terrestrial birds that will be companions for the week: finches, mockingbirds, yellow warblers. Highlands, Ancestral Lagoon & Giant Tortoises

Understanding the island from its core

From Rancho Ecológico El Mirador, with the silhouette of Kicker Rock etched on the horizon, the route climbs toward El Junco — the only freshwater lagoon in all of Galápagos, suspended 650 meters above sea level. La Galapaguera reveals the conservation program for the endemic San Cristóbal giant tortoise (Chelonoidis chathamensis). The day ends at Puerto Chino, with a countryside picnic lunch and the first participatory action: coastal marine cleanup.

Touch the geological history of the islands and take the first step as a volunteer guardian.

Lobos Island, Snorkeling & Bonfire Under the Stars

Enjoying the ocean with a more mindful gaze

Coastal navigation to Lobos Island: blue-footed boobies, magnificent frigatebirds, marine iguanas and sea lion colonies unfold just meters away. Snorkeling in crystal-clear, shallow waters teeming with life. Lunch on board. The afternoon relaxes at Playa Ochoa, an almost private coastal oasis, where we collect microplastics carried by the currents. The return is celebrated at Volcán Verde with an open-air bonfire, craft cocktails and local flavors under skies free from light pollution.

Swim alongside sea lions and close the day around the fire, where stories are told best.

DAY

Waterfalls, Coffee with Identity & Coastal Sunset

Connecting with the land and the island's everyday life

Finca Las Cascadas unveils San Cristóbal's most fertile face: freshwater springs and natural reserves where it's even possible to swim in volcanic pools. At Finca El Trinar, the local producer personally guides a journey through Galápagos coffee — cultivation, harvest, roasting and tasting directly with the person who planted it. The day closes at Playa Carola, among iguanas, sea lions and a golden light that turns photography into art.

360° Tour: The Great Marine Emblem

Experiencing the raw power of the ocean

The full circumnavigation of San Cristóbal reveals its most spectacular treasures: Rosa Blanca Bay, with natural sea lagoons and surreal white sand; Sardina Bay, a landscape that seems invented; and the colossal Kicker Rock, a volcanic sphinx where deep-water snorkeling offers encounters with sea turtles, rays, Galápagos sharks and multicolored schools of fish. During the voyage, dolphins and — with luck — whales complete an epic day.

Veinte Varas Bay: Remote Beauty & Mindful Pause

The quietest places hold the most intense memories

A hike toward the island's southern coast, where Veinte Varas Bay awaits with its tiny, secluded beach — ideal for contemplative snorkeling and deep rest. Here we carry out another ocean plastic waste cleanup. The afternoon closes at Volcán Verde with a bonfire, soft drinks, locally produced snacks and the satisfaction of having cared for a corner that very few will ever know.

Discover that the most memorable adventure can simply be being present.

Volcán Verde: Wellness, Volunteering & Gratitude

Give back, express gratitude and feel the journey transforming the traveler

The morning begins with an optional sunrise yoga session, surrounded by the song of finches and owls returning from the night. The rest of the day is devoted to regenerative volunteering at the ecological reserve: conservation activities, planting, native flora restoration and direct participation alongside local community members who share their ancestral knowledge. To close, a ceremony of gratitude to the Pachamama — symbolic, human and deeply moving — concludes the most powerful experiential moment of the program.

DAY

Cerro Tijeretas & La Lobería: Farewell Among Cliffs

Saying goodbye leaving a lighter footprint and a deeper bond

The last full day opens with snorkeling at Cerro Tijeretas, a natural aquarium of transparent waters where swimming with sea lions feels like an ancestral privilege. After lunch at Volcán Verde — the last meal prepared with island ingredients — La Lobería unfolds its cliffs, iguanas, birds and open landscapes. Final marine cleanup action. The night culminates with a group gathering to share experiences, learnings, emotions and the certainty that something changed within.

Swim one last time with the guardians of the sea and carry home a silence that speaks.

DAY

Return: What Remains

Going home with a deeper memory of Galápagos

A calm morning at Volcán Verde, savoring the last moments of peace among the cabins, the scent of native vegetation and the song of finches that have become familiar. Photos, hugs, farewells that are promises of return, and transfer to the airport. The experience ends, but the feeling of having lived something unrepeatable settles in forever — just like the positive impact your visit left on dozens of island families.

The experience concludes. The transformation has only just begun — in you and in San Cristóbal.
